Best thing if possible, is to get actual part #s from the part. What is it, a 12.7 Detroit? Thermostats, 190, starters the same. Air dryer should be per vin of Truck. I’d make a list. I have one for any upgrades I do, belts, a/c compressor. Turbo, so far. Also good to have a list for buying parts at Truckpro, Fleetline, it a different Dealership. It amazes Me how many seasoned Parts Guys know nothing without a vin#.
4noReason Thanks this. -
I'm not sure about Detroit, but with cummins you can log into quick serve with your engine serial # and get ANY part number in relation to your engine. The same with Eaton, Spicer, Hendricks. All of those manufacturers have illustrated parts lists you can download. Just make sure when you take the part number to Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt you say, "I'm trying to check price and availability on cummins part#*****, IT MIGHT BE SUPERSEDED. "
That last part is important cause they'll sell you some new "old stock" and not blank an eye.4noReason, nikmirbre and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
