Now you are getting into Mass and Density. I was at least awake during that lesson in water displacement as a tool to figure that out. forgot everything by now but put something into the water, the difference in yea high and too #### much is the resulting answer we seek for any given substance.

you would want a 2 wheeler, to stack as many boxes at a time that you can, rather then unload one box at a time.

there really isn't any time table, it is all dependent on how fast or how slow a person works. of course, the heavier the cargo is, to slower you may go. the lighter the weight, the faster you could go.

one thing however is, you do not want to :milk" the loading or unloading to pad your hourly wages, as your boss may get on your back for taking too much time. then he may send someone with you, to observe your job performance, and you ain't gonna like that.

you never answered my question, how old are you?

you ask a lot of questions, but you never seem to have an actual job.

Buddy157 is right. If it is a child who is curious about trucking I am joyful and able to take same to school. In my own way I guess.

But if it is someone who is new to the industry, about to start school etc those are pretty good questions. Most people cannot imagine disposing of 48000 pounds physically twice daily. It hurts but thats what the sleeper and lumpers are for.

IF it is a trucker who is currently working then, these questions are sort of a exploring situation possibly for food service or distribution grocery etc.

Whichever these three situatiosn we are dealing with will help me do better once I understand the other person. Its really hard online.

i think it is someone that is either...

    1) under age....so still in maybe junior high school.

    2) not working presently (like on unemployment) (but has been here since Sept 2018, asking all these questions.)

    3) is a shut-in, unable to do any actual work?

said person has been here since Sept of 2018, and been asking various trucking questions. (under this name) could have been someone else, before this?.

yeah just looking at the guys threads. It isn't a kid. Looks like some one trying to get side work with an old UHaul box truck and paid cash to avoid taxes or child support. So Maybe a real deadbeat dad. lol

Well, I appreciate the thoughts. I don't know what else to think.

I cannot help it, sitting with a box of doughnuts by the sea in baltimore with gulls coming 20 miles to have a bite.

We do know the weight is 20 to 50 lbs, assuming the load is in cartons and we know the capacity of the van 2500 cube, we could determine the average time to unload using two persons working in series handing one to the other to reduce travel per person....like a bucket brigade. Two men in a truck...i would expect the least of two hours and possibly four hours depending on the size and weight of individual units. Lumpers usually charge by the pieces with or without pallets.

Gee this is fun! Call a lumper.

Im a driver....those boxes with not have my fingerprints on them.

AND I am losing my awake time which is most precious.

I can lump a trailer. OR I can have that load 1000 miles away next morning appointment.

Dispatcher will just have to accept one of those two possible outcomes. So which is it?

Dispatchers don't have to accept anything. Thats easy for them. They want it all. So I put in a 30 hour working day straight through and still get treated to a service failure and then fire me.

And they wonder why I complain to DOT with logbook or ELD abuses. I'll just rack the violations.

Which is why I try to be choosy about which company I run for. Once I submit the logs and signed for same, they are FROZEN in stone. Violations or not. Give me my punishment and be on your way Mr Safety Man. DO NOT whatever they do Edit the logs.

Don't make assumptions before you know me personally... I ask questions on this forum so the truckers who respond and run this forum answer them in a professional manner... u have no idea how much of a ####### you are by making assumptions like u did... I'm not a dad and u don't know what I'm going to do, will do, think about or actually do so... I ask questions.... I don't tell people who make assumptions like u do what my life plans are so don't make stupid assumptions before you know what I'm posting on here....
