Just one note on the tolls being married to a company driver. They DO NOT pay for the entire toll. You turn the toll ticket in with your trip pack and you get about 1/2 of it back. I have seen it on 1bads checks more times than I can count and we have fought it everytime but still no more money comes our way.

That must be something new. I always was paid back 100% of tolls.
Lumpers was different. Always use a com-check. Even if it is a hassle at the place and you have to go somewhere to cash it.
This happened to me one time. It was going to be a hassle and I had the cash. So I let dispatch know and they said it would not be an issue.
I put all the info they require on the lumper onto the paperwork and on the trippak.
Still I never got the money back.
I actually had ALLOT more info than they needed, and this was the service they told me I had to use, so they had his info anyway. This was at the Piggly Wiggly DS in AL.
Was a total pain in the rear.
I never paid a lumper cash again.
90%+ of your tolls will be done with ez pass. It is only a few areas that don't use it.
Ohio there should be a toll card in your permit book, inside the front cover.
Look for this when you get your truck. If you do not see an Ohio toll card in your book ask for one. They should have a box of them in the permits office.
So with that you are covered in the North East US, Indiana now uses ez pass as does Illinois. There are a few like OK, OR, WA, KS that you still have to pay last I went thru. They are lower toll states though, and OK is easy to get around.Linebacker51 and Bootlegger66 Thank this. -
Today they got rid of a couple people. One of them had already graduated, had gone with a trainer, and was waiting for an upgrade. They told him they found something in his background but wouldn't disclose what. But he is outta here and he doesn't even know why.
Truck driving has always appealed to me. I am glad I came... I would have always wondered what could have been. But at about 11 o'clock tonight I am headed outta here. It's not that I can't handle it, it's not that it is too tough, it's because at this point it is the best thing for me to do. I cannot risk a $3000 note and not pass and not get a job. (If you do everything right, and in the end do not pass the driving test... you owe 3k, immediately. No cdl... just a certificate of completion) I am not in a position where I can do that. I have just gone thru two bankruptcies. A business bankruptcy and then a personal bankruptcy. I cannot have debt hanging over my head right now. Last thing I need is a ding on the credit when I am trying to rebuild it.
For those of you coming soon - I wish you the best of luck. Central isn't too bad... I am not trying to say that they are. I have just decided that it just isn't for me.
Linebacker51 Thanks this. -
All the best Chipperdawg, I do understand when you make a decision, or have to, and do the best you can. I have found those types of decisions in my life have always turned out for the best

Hah, thanks for that Chipper. I feel pretty confident about it now. I'm 5'6"-5'7" so I'm not too short or too tall rly. Working out has been doing a ton of good for me too. Good luck on your endeavors man. I'm glad that you have the strong will to know when to jump out if something isn't right.

I went out on the road with my room mate and the insurance for a rider was one hundred twenty dollars due at signing. That was in July of this year. It could have changed since then.
Once he parks the truck and signs off for the day or at hometime, it stays parked. Can't be used for personal errands.
This is my experience. As I've said; it could change.
