Need some insight on Trailer Tandem regulations

I loaded one in Carson Ca not long ago on a Sat and the BOL said 33k... loaded to the back door.. came in just to load me and went home.
I pulled away and knew that wasn't 33k, but pressure gauge on 5th wheel was reading about 28,000lbs.

I did like you. Left it tucked to get out for visuals and prayed all outbounds were closed.
Hit the AZ line and slid it back 10 holes.

Of all people.. CA shippers should know what they're doing.

 

It's the king pin to trailer axle law. California wants it at 40 feet. I got a ticket in Indiana because my tandems were farther back than 48 feet from the 5th wheel.

 

Empty or loaded.

Don't think I've seen anyone say anything about Washington.

 

According to these folks, there is no limit in Washington. I tend to believe them, because we run a tri-axle through there every week a couple of holes from the back.

Washington has a bridge law that they enforce big time. as far setting the axles they can be placed all the way back

Bridge laws deal with weight. What the OP is talking about is a KPRA regulation.

Never heard of WA having a KPRA regulation on the books and I ran out there for almost 10 years with a 53 quad. ID has their off track measurements for any trailer over 48ft.

 

If axles can be all the way back..Then what kp law would there be to enforce?

I'm aware of Oregon having bridge.
