Yes. The fuel will level out by itself. I do it often if the amount I’m getting will fit in one tank.

As long as the system is working properly. If you have a plugged vent or some other problem it’s possible to run one tank dry and the other have plenty of fuel.
Rideandrepair, truckdriver31 and tscottme Thank this. -
as long as you have a crossover balance hose on bottom of the tanks that isnt packed with sand and rust.
Pete 379s have a tee for siphon and return, no balance on the one i drove. [Coulda been deleted in a tank change over the 2 million miles, i dunno]truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
Thankfully most of them aren't on the bottom of the tanks anymore... way too easy to knock them off the bottom with all the junk on the roads.. and the giant potholes in the parking lots! lolRideandrepair, truckdriver31, blairandgretchen and 1 other person Thank this.

if that happens will the truck shut offtruckdriver31 and 062 Thank this.

If the truck is pulling of the one tank, then yes. Most trucks seem to pull more fuel off the drivers tank. It shouldn’t be a problem, but don’t push your luck trying to stretch it out until you get a feel for how it will do.truckdriver31 and 4noReason Thank this.

make sure the pick up tube isnt in the empty tank. takes a little for fuel to transfer
