    Kids!

WTF do you need to go out and buy weapons that may or may not be illegal when you should carry tools of necessity that can be used as a weapon in a pinch.

Here's 3 tools I carried throughout most of my career, even when I traveled in my 4 wheeler, that are just handy to have around for numerous scenarios.

Small ball peen hammer, used for tire thumping, always on the floor beside the seat for easy access so you don't have to open the storage door, just grab and thump.

Rigging knife, also kept in the cab and out of the elements.
Back in the day I pulled a lot of covered wagons with tarp and rack kits and had to deal with frozen ropes and knots on a daily basis.
The ball peen and rigging knife went hand in hand, made life a lot easier.

Camping axe, you never know when you have to do some chopping, kept in the storage box behind driver seat so as not to give wrong impression to the law.

Add a snipe pipe and a crowbar and there is no shortage of weaponry available if the need arises.

Personally, I like a small ball peen hammer, has so many uses other than breaking teeth, skulls and knee caps.

image.png I always had a 12 inch kitchen knife hanging on the interior bulkhead. I liked cooking.

    Sharpened wooden broomstick also .

Never parked anywhere that I worried about personal protection out of the truck .

    I'm a Runner not a fighter.

In my personal vehicle I have one of these sitting in the door pocket.

Better than brass knuckles, and you won't see it coming or wrestle it out of my hands .

This thing makes razor blades feel dull

Kind of a fan of machetes too being I have been swinging one to trim trees and bushes for 30 years

The cool thing about where I live in East Tennessee is we got , not sure if it’s confirmed but it’s supposed to be the biggest knife store in the world and the place is Yugh. And their really isn’t any restrictions on what you can carry too. I got a Gerber LMF 2 and a Gerber Ghost strike to match I can carry all day long in East Tennessee but like everything else it’s a fine line elsewhere and seams like laws are made up for the situation at hand . I’ll take my chances

Not everywhere, in New Jersey even a BB gun and Paint gun cause problems and black powder requires a firearms card.

I’ve watched one too many knife attack videos and I fear knives more than I ever did a gun. Go look and see what the cartel is doing with knives down in South America. Absolutely mind-boggling. That said, I’d still prefer a firearm for personal protection over a knife. A knife is only gonna work if you’re in immediate close proximity which is highly probable if someone tries to hijack your truck. But a firearm is this still the ultimate deterrent. I wish I knew what the rules and laws are in black-and-white and since we drive through so many #### states who knows what state would be legal and illegal to carry a firearm on the truck. So for now I don’t. I’m an American citizen, with no past criminal history whatsoever and it should be my God-given right to carry a firearm on a truck that’s a target and protect myself. But oh no, it’s not anymore. Last thing I would ever want to do is shoot someone. But if awake at 3am to someone trying to jack you up, you’ll wish you had a means to protect yourself.

For now is a taser and a half gallon of high pressure bear pepper spray.

What's the probability somebody who's trying to rob you will have a gun, you really want to bring a knife or bear spray to a gun fight?
