Realistically looks like an offer to just do basic billing, accounts receivables, and IFTA filing. Since we'd have to get the BOL & invoice to you no real difference. Insurance agent/company already does the certificates, and legally should.
Personally I don't want some other company to receive payments for me to much risk of it all skipping. -
5% for loading yourself. 8% for loads the book. Now that's if it is your average buddy with authority situation where they are booking broker freight. If they have actual in house accounts that pay better then I'd go 10%

it seems alot of brokers wont except info packets or send packets by email.most are about 10 pages in and 5 pages back out. how much will a truck stop charge you for receving and sending faxes? seems like it would be a lot. i guess paper work woulden't be a problem you could do it on your time off. also you could always get someone at home to help find loads while driving.or you could do it at the truck stop having a snack.I have guys leased to me on a regular lease deal 30% of gross and it works out really great. they just run and don't worry about anything else. please keep the replys coming..Walt

Walt, you trying to drum up some more people to lease on to you?
-
I also have noticed people ask about running on others authority how much are you offering and what do you expect in return? just asking

in the thinking process right now.freight is starting to slow down alittle. and I wan't to keep everyone busy.doing a sales call tomorrow so well see. walt

We were basically just looking for your name and numbers on the door, your mill. liability and cargo policies, I guess since it's your authority you would have to do fuel tax filing too. We'd pay physical damage, bobtail, plates, bring our own truck & trailer, and find own loads (unless you had some dedicated brokers
). I imagine we'd be looking to give up in the 5-10% range. Any more than that and we'd probably be better off just getting our own authority.
-
your better off spending the $300.00 for your own. it would be a while before I could do anything anyhow.as i said freight is slowing down (Good Paying) and i have 3 guys already plus my trucks and trying to make everyone happy is getting harder. good luck with your venture.Walt

I use Adobe PDF when I need to setup with a broker away from home. I have an online fax service that converts the fax to PDF or I have the broker email it to me in PDF. I then use the typewriter feature to fill in the contract. I then use the the "pencil tool" to sign my signature (it looks like crap but it works). I then save the signature page as a .Tiff (picture file) then convert it back to PDF and add the signed page back to the contract in PDF. I have to convert it to and image file in order to save the signature, for some reason it wont fax the signature i made with the pencil tool. I am sure there is an easier way but I am an too lazy to figure it out

I also do the same with rate confirmations. Sign it - save as image - convert image back to PDF - fax or email the signed confirmation.
The drawback is if your in a truck stop or other area that does not have wifi. I am considering get mobile internet through att or other company that will give you internet access anywhere (i think its pretty expensive).
