I'd probably at least have to pull all the tape up again.

I have to drive all night tonight to MN so I'm going to sleep for about 4 hours. Sorry I'll be MIA but I'll read any responses when I get up.

    Thanks.

Roadmedic, I know you mean well, but...

Rob, if you haven't already done so, do NOT use silicone on your roof. Paint will never stick there again and whoever does the final repair will probably pull their hair out when they see silicone. That stuff has a half-life of at least 43 million years.

If you use anything at all, use neoprene rubber (Blackjack #99). It'll seal and it's easy enough to remove... It won't contaminate the paint like silicone either. Use a wet paper towel to dab it down smooth after you apply it. You can use fiberglass drywall tape to bridge any big gaps.

It was only a thought. Not a good one, I guess.

I use it to seal the fog lights after rocks hit them. Seals the water out. Never thought about paint.

Silicone is nasty bad stuff when it come to paint. Nothing will make you pull your hair out and run screaming and crying from the paint booth faster than fisheyes in a new paint job.

Well, maybe trying to paint over top of uncatalyzed Centauri might be a close second.

ok.rob just relaxe!!!!! when you called ,and told me about your new addittion to your truck,be happy lol #### happens and like mr pharms repair man siad fiberglass and white paint is the way to go!!!! just keep the 100 mile an hour tape on it for now!!!! so you put a hole in some tin its fixable, for now either use the duct tape of find a peace of plastic or old convayor, throw it over the hole and tape the crap out of it !!!! it will work till youcan fix it right to keep the rain out:biggrin_2556:but then again if your haveing a bad day and its just pouring out and you need a shower, feel free to grab a bar of soap on a rope and get your self cleaned up and cover the hole back up and dry off and your fresh as new :biggrin_2559:relax slow down it will be ok rob
