I owned a 2010 Mack CXU613, MP8, 13 speed with 3:36 gears and 285/75/24.5's. I drove the absolute hell out of that truck. I bought it with 318,000 miles on it in early 2019. I put about 130,000 miles on it before I sold it. I got too good of an offer to sell it so I took the dough.
This truck was bone stock and the ECM was still running the original tune. It had never been updated with newer software. I could run it hard at 84,000lbs. pulling my hopper bottom and it was a solid 7.34mph truck at 70mph. The MP8 13.0L was very impressive when it came to fuel economy. When I drove it my normal way it would give me a 30-day average of 8.26mpg. I drove 57mph in 12th gear and it would just sup fuel from the tanks.
The one thing I did notice was the front suspension was not as refined as a comparable Kenworth or Peterbilt or Freightliner. It did have a more rigid feel to it's ride quality in the front. Overall the Mack interior held up quite well with hardly a squeak or creak and not a single cracked piece of plastic anywhere.
One thing I really liked about the truck was it's turning radius. It had a 270" wheelbase and would turn super-tight corners and if I had to
u-turn in an emergency it would flip-a-bich with ease.

Taillight in, the trailer loaded and brought back to the yard and closet doors lacquered clear. Now all I got to do is hang them tomorrow.

This job search stuff is getting a little discouraging. Part of me says I should just write a cheque for a service truck and do my own thing.
