Definetely so,if youre not tethered to Maine.I relocated from midwest to west coast around 7 years ago. Gross pay has basically doubled.Sure, cost of living can go up if you dont just stay with family/ friends on your fee days off.,but even the cost of paying mortgage/ rent can be offset by an Extra 2500 a month coming in. Unless you' re delivering water or Stephen King novels, not sure what they haul outta there? Lol JMO

I'm in a similar situation. I live in NW Montana, but will be relocation in a year for family, but it will also improve my career prospects dramatically. It's become a no brainer.

Probably Southeastern Ohio. My wife has family across the river in WV.

I figure that will give me the world of trucking at my fingertips, and by then I'll have enough job stability to take advantage.

Ohio is fantastic for trucking jobs.
Here's one in Cincinnati @Blue Zombie Trucker :
    Transport National
    Transport National
Transport National promises the same things as other companies, but they deliver. They don't just hand it out to you on a platter, you have to earn it thru hard work and commitment but the home time is there and so is the pay.

Thanks, Chinatown. I'll be looking you up in a year, when we are closer to moving. Right now, I have to build some job stability. The company I'm with now is good; while not top tier, they treat me well, and they hire in my area. Eventually, though, I'll be moving on and up.

Paper, sea food, medical equipment, electronics, furniture, manufactured goods of all kind but mostly high value business to business equipment. I'm sure more but that's just what I know for a fact

There is a Walmart DC in Lewiston, ME. After a year you can apply to another Walmart DC in any State that there is a open vacancy ( You can tell a need to go there even if there are no openings.). At least gives you a foot while still working on the new State. The only problem is may not be closer the city or company you may have interest in.
You can find Walmart DC's on this site, Look only for GM's and Grocery DC's and good luck.

Well Alabama ain't too bad either. I'd think twice about the desert states CA (they are freaking crazy and hate trucks) AZ, NM, NV,UT cause they have too many restrictions on water cause well they are the desert. Maybe East Tn or the KY would work for you. Alabama has it's share of stupid stuff too, but we have plenty of work, no too horribly expensive to live here.
