The auto 12 gets the job done, its not a manual (which i stated works better going up and down hills) but the auto 12 hasn't let me down yet.

I wouldn't be scared of it, if it seems well cared for. Ours has almost 800K on the clock does not burn a drop of oil. I have had to replace the injectors and cups, that is a known issue on those trucks and a costly one. Typical emissions issues, other than that I'm happy with it.Edjahman Thanks this.

Unfortunately, I had Mack pull the valve cover to run the overhead and they said it needed a new cam and rockers so I'm buying a 579 Pete now.
I wish the Mack would've worked out though. I kinda liked it.
Thank you for your reply.ReeferOhio and ChicagoJohn Thank this. -

Interested to see if anyone has some updated experiences with the CXU13s. I’ve been looking at a couple 2017s with 445-505 mp8s and mdrive 12 speeds. 400-600k miles depending on the truck. Seem to be reasonably priced so I’m curious of their track record compared to the other brands on the road.

When I got hired on with Sun Coast Resources back in the fall of 2013, I was assigned a Mack daycab, if I recall it was a ‘Vision Cab’(?), had the Mack red engine, with a Fuller Road Ranger, was a bit of a dog off the line when fully loaded, but rode nice, kinda floated along. Pre-Def, pre-regen which was really nice.
