1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

OK first post here although i have been Lurking for some time. I am a CDL A driver with over sixteen years of driving both OTR Northeast and local. With the last five years being self employed i seem to be out of luck.

No DUI's ever, Spotless driving record, Great work history, No convictions or anything else negative. Sounds great but it seems a 42 year old truck driver with this record cannot get an OTR job. Most companies want Verified OTR in the last three years. Self employed doesnt seem to count.

    Any advice?????????????

    Thanks

You may have been better of if you had raped the old lady greeter at walmart, after stealing her medications, and shooting her handicapped husband. I had the same problem as you bank around 1995, so I just took a 3 week course at the local driver mill. Solved my problem..If that's not an option, than look at the smaller companies, someone will hire you but that's a tough area. After all the drunks wake-up around here, you'll get more advice. Best of luck, hang in there.............

well im not a drunk by any means dont drink at all but the problem your having is because of the econamy, a lot of drivers have lost there trucks and there have been thousands across the country and that puts more drivers looking for work and these wonderefull companys now have there pick with no regard for the driver no matter what the expeirence when the unemployed drivers thin out its amazing how the do away with most of there qualificartions its always the same , dont give up sooner or later you will find somthing things will get better.------southernpride
