They've got them insured. But doesn't make the loss of life any easier

True. But don’t be surprised if the insurance company jacks up their premium tenfold or cancels the policy outright for a very substantial payout! Two of the horses were sired by Triple Crown and Belmont Stakes winners! That’s 2 horses with good pedigrees lost!

They most likely have some of their semen frozen. Slightly off topic.

Nice goin', see? Years ago, precious cargo, and I consider million dollar horses precious cargo, was hauled by the best of the best. You never heard of race horses dying in a truck crash, unless we never heard of it, but those high end animals always seemed to make it to the track. I'm not a big animal freak, and I'm certainly not crying for the owners, it's just, this is what it's become, shoddy drivers hauling precious cargo. Again, under investigation, big mystery. We're doomed.:biggrin_25513:

I'm curious what happened. The company hauling the horses has 44 power units and an excellent safety record.

It could actually be FMCSAs fault for not implementing a required siesta into the 14 hour clock of all of our South of the border native drivers.
