Rookie choosing first company

Thanks for help. I know there is a Trucking company in Kennesaw, GA, but don't remember the name or know if they hire recent Grads?

 

Right now i don't have the hazmat certs. I do have a TWIC card if that helps my hire ability or not?

  21 years of age or older
  Valid CDL Class A license
  Valid Social Security Card
  Valid school certificate of a 120 hour course within the last 24 months
  No positives or refusals of drug or alcohol test within last 5 years
  Pass a mandatory DOT drug screen
  Produce a DOT Medical Card

 

Try to get hazmat. Not required for all companies, but many do look at it favorably.

 

I got one ticket on my record on 9-11-2018. # point ticket for failure to obey signs or control devices. could ruin my chances for a good job.

 

Again, I appreciate your knowledge and help! I am always open to suggestions as well. This is a good place to get answers without having to key up.

Company in Rydal, GA. I am assuming it helps to work for a company not far from home. Not the most important choice, but might make a difference?

 

Trucking companies go by hiring area and if you live in the hiring area, you're hired.

 

Rydal is only 45-60 minutes away from me, not bad
