4352 total miles.. total fuel cost was.... $2056.56 .... but.... fuel surcharge was 1000.96 and the first fill up free was 397.35.. so total fuel expense was actually $658.25....

    VERY nice!!!

Even with $1056 in fuel (ignoring the first fill up), you did very well. That is a LOT of miles!

Were they pushing you or did you just leisurely drive all those miles with no prodding?

    :biggrin_2559:

Nice! I ran flatbed for..... the "Swift of flatbed companies" for my last driving job. I was regional (first mistake) and loads were very scarce. The only time I managed to get any meaningful loads was leaving NC for Dallas or Houston, dropping off the load and sitting around one of their terminals there waiting for little 120mi (at best) loads. I worked on percentage, so when the paychecks went down to about $200/wk, I begged for runs out of the region if possible.

I loved the long drives over a couple days, then unloading/untarping and doing it again. No way on earth I'd go back to that sort of arrangement. You JCT drivers have it good.

I shoulda stuck it out and waited for a JCT opportunity to come around.

Excel, I don't rush when I have time. The other part of keeping your door shut is keeping your foot out of it. I'm working hard to get 6.2/3 out of this 379. Today was easy with the light load but my total for the week is 6.1 over 4000+ miles.

Too bad they welded your door shut while you were in the casino. LOL J/K.

I'm calling it a day in Eloy and I'll drive the last 61 miles in the morning.

yes they do, but they don't start taking it out like 2-3 weeks after orientation. So the first few weeks you should run all the miles you can to catch up on the orientation week that you didn't get paid :)
