I just got my CDL and proud of it. I drive truck and I work with heavy equipment. I just am willing to accept reality. It will happen and will move forward and I can either sit there in fear or progress with the technology. It will make the roads safer. I am no spokesperson for this kind of technology either just know how the world works. Everyone says that kind of stuff from fear. It won't take many jobs away, and when it does take the jobs away it will add that many more positions. There will always be work out there. Keep an open mind and don't always go immediately to the negative side of things, that's why this country is so split because people can't accept change and place blame when there is none to place. We create problems when there are none.

Who said they gotta run that route. If they arn’t paying a driver to drive anymore they can afford to run south and hit a less treacherous route. The dems as we speak are trying to push legislation thru for all electric vehicles for everyone by 2030. So fuel mileage won’t be an issue by than either.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

And thats the fn problem right there they WONT be perfect and never will!! Hell the technology they have on these brand new trucks aren't close to perfect.TokyoJoe, Tb0n3, Rubber duck kw and 2 others Thank this.

Call the HammerCapacity, AModelCat, PoleCrusher and 1 other person Thank this.

How and where exactly do you think they are going to figure everything? There's only so much you can do in a closed course simulation. Until the engineers are willing to send their kids out to walk across Talledega with the driverless vehicles running full bore i don't want them on the road.

Computers are more patient than humans are so they can program them to go real slow down a mountain like a human should be doing anyway.
When they go all electric everything will have dynamic brakes like a locomotive.TokyoJoe, tommymonza and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Maybe they will be better. That is the one question i always had with these electric trucks . No more jake breaks

I gotta tell ya. This is some crazy b.s. for sure and I’m 100% against it for the loss of jobs as # 1 but also the loss of freedom. We won’t be able to have our classic vehicles of anykind on the roads in the next 10 years with the way things are going. That’s why I drive all my old junk as much as I can these days. F ‘em if they don’t like my smelly old truck. I’m happy for now......
Is this the one time in trucking history that any of you guys would actually rather see a swift truck with a first day driver over one without a driver at all? Lol!Wasted Thyme, Dale thompson, Dino soar and 2 others Thank this. -
I literally do not see the appeal in a self driving vehicle. I actually enjoy driving. If I wanted to sit back in a seat I'd take the ####ing bus lol.already gone, Dino soar, Rubber duck kw and 2 others Thank this.
