Sbreeden ,
don't rush man, take a week off, few beers, relax, talk to people and think twice before open your wallet . I hope you get lucky but will cost you well over 20 grands, imo very risky gamble for 30 days warranty motor, considering the fact that D16 has been a motor with problems since was introduced, maybe you got lucky until now.
I don't know where you got that exaggerated 47 000$ price for reman.
I was in same situation two years ago , with my D13 , and i paid aprox 24,000usd for what you see bellow Volvo D13 reman part.... and installed was about 31,000 usd, all through Volvo with 350,000 miles / or 2 years warranty. The D16/D12 remans is about same price .
I'm not suggesting this option , but is less risky for your business, because i had some problems with this reman, last month i was i shoop again with an oil leak in the back, but was all covered by warranty, still under warranty until September.
On the other hand, we get emotionally attached to our trucks you know it's paid, and we fix it, i also put a motor on 8 years old truck with 1.1 mil miles. I wouldn't do it again, because the frame gets weak, flimsy few months ago i replaced the steer axle, all suspension leaf/air springs, diff last year, some electrical glitches harness that come with age. After my experiences with 3 trucks , i drove all of them over 1 mill, I would buy a used with lower miles.
All the best !Attached Files:

Been off for a month now, did the pro and cons for all avenues within my pocket budget. I stay away from financing, never know what the industry will throw at you. I already purchased the engine and you never know what it's going to throw at you. Since I am keeping the core, I have parts if anything go bad. Going to change the bearings after the 30 days, going to take the core head and have it done over and kept home. Then get the overhaul kit and have it home to.
Yeah I am emotional attack to the truck, this since Aug 2019, just about everything was new and refreshing, the engine was the last to do.
I pray this engine serve me.as well as the old one.Socal Xpress, nikmirbre and bzinger Thank this. -
How's the new-to-you engine running?
