I started to laugh at the OP then I had to think about it for a second.. After backing so many times, it sometimes becomes second nature... Hunts point, chicagos Fulton Market... tight backs for many years... The one thing I remember my pops telling me "it is like a taking a bolt off.. left to loosen right to tighten after you do it a lot you will get better... " Backing skills take time some backing situations are all going to be different and if you get out 30 times and you don't hit anything or damage anything who cares you got in there and you did not damage.. If you don't get out and you nail something you messed up.... Don't stop trying..

CRE passes people who can’t back. I passed on my first try. But I struggle so much with my straight line in real life that I can’t do any real backing. Find a school that has 1 on 1 instructors. I found out after the fact that it would have been cheaper to just pay out of pocket for 8 days with an instructor. Hang in there! You will get this. Straight line messes me up. I got more points on my straight line than my parallel, offset, and road portion.

That is me! I’m out in the real world Trucking and some people get it. Others don’t. I have like 8 weeks out of training actually but technically have 3-4 months experience. I can rank 2nd in my fleet of 100+ driving forwards but my straight line makes my butt pucker.

Do what your trailer is doing when straightlining back. It’s a lot left be a lot left as it decreases get out of your hard turn. This is what I was told that makes the most sense to me even if I can’t do it yet

I’m having so much trouble doing offset when I do my 60. It’s like my trailer moves so fast when I get back under the trailer it’s like I’m way way off and then when I do get line up straight. I start my straight back and its just off then I try my next 60 and I’m screwed… like really going straight in to my driver side cone on either offset it’s like I’m driver side happy…any advice, also my tractor reacts really fast i don’t have to touch the gas when I put it into gear. It’s ready and it starts moving

Your last response forces me to ask a serious question, hopefully I can word it correctly.
Sometimes when learning something certain type personalities will over think things while being given instruction. It seems they are thinking while the instruction is being given so much that they miss the simple parts of the instruction and then have a hard time learning the task. If while they are still talking you are actually thinking about what question to ask instead of what they are saying then you might fit this.
If so you need to slow down your processing and focus on what’s being said, attempt doing with the instruction given and then ask the question if it doesn’t get answered by becoming obvious during your attempt.
Are you hearing but not listening because your overthinking?InTooDeep, Old_n_gray, Hammer166 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That makes sense other than the fact nobody is talking to him all he is doing is reading .. He is a habitual offender of what you stated .. read some of his other less than intellectual threads and you will seen what I talking aboutOld_n_gray and Hammer166 Thank this.
