ESTES Express (5 Year Review)

I bought the P226 30 something years ago and it is still my favorite handgun. I put Pachmayr grips on mine and it fits my hand perfect.

 

Lately my p2000sk gets all my carry love, between that and a p30sk.

 

That was GOING to be my next gun, but I held it in my hand, and I'd need WAYYYY wider grips. The Sig was perfect out the box.

 

I used to carry a 229, For me what sealed the deal with the mag release on HK. I typically shoot about 10-15k rounds annually and I found that paddle release reduced reload errors and improved runtime/reload time on the shoots I compete in.

 

Oh absolutely. Everyone has their preferences. For me, it was just the balance and fit in my hand of the Sig. I'm sure if I play with custom grips on an HK I would (and likely will...you can never have enough guns) love that as well.

Ok everyone, I just wanted to let you guys know that I appreciated all the input from everyone, I went and did a deal today and this was the result, I ended up with a never fired 2000 year model P229 .40 cal no rail , the dealer had gotten five of them from a estate auction, apparently they were a collection of all different models and never fired, I even got the original invoice for the first owner in the box, needless to say 3531 is a happy man right now, been looking for a old school Sig for sometime, never thought I would find one that was never used and the model I wanted, Mack with your blessings I would like to post a pic if allowed, but want to clear through you first, don't know if that's allowed on TR or not.

 

Maybe some nice boots, a pair of gloves, and if you're feeling really fancy, a scarf!

 

Been averaging $850 - $1100 a week. FYI
