We took a load from Ani Harutyunyan a Landstar Ranger agent. The rate confirmation sheet stated we could pick up 8am to 5pm. We arrived at Allied Tube in Harvey. Il. at 12:30pm and did not get loaded until 6:10pm. After we were loaded the shipping person told the driver our appointment was scheduled for 5:30pm. I informed the broker and asked for 4 hours of detention. He said he would talk to the shipper. I followed up several times and got no response. I contacted Corporate and after many messages back and forth they agreed to pay one hour of detention for $50.
We have done many loads for Landstar but will never take one from this dishonest broker again

I don’t think I would have let 1 time get to me, I did like how you said you take loads FOR landstar sounds like your in confusion you forgot who your customer is which in this case would be landstar since there the one who is paying you,If your ever confused on who you’re customers are its always the ones who pay you.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
What is the agency code?
blairandgretchen, disoba and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Not sure I follow your line of thinking. Landstar has “agents” basically contractors under landstar’s authority. So you can load for landstar, but not use a particular agent.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

I don’t concern myself about another business structure such as landstar in this instance.I would only be concerned about mine,I didn’t see the importance of bad mouthing a customer because of one instance.Im taking this post as the op is not leased to landstar but even if he is landstar is still his customer and I would not see as a way I would want to treat my customer over 1 misunderstanding is what I would have chalked this up as because I myself could have a situation that I might need them to understand.Yes you can just stop dealing with any customer but would really need more then 1 load b4 I would bad mouth themD.Tibbitt, blairandgretchen and Aamcotrans Thank this.

I have had trouble with that agency myself. They cheated me out of four days of layover pay once. It seems to be a sort of chameleon agency. Look at all the affiliated agency codes for it in the directory, all of which have the same address and contact information. It was this agency that made me start checking agencies in the directory before accepting loads from them. I want to make sure I don't haul for these guys again and they have so many codes I can't remember them all.

Doesn’t landstar have a block list? I mean you can just block the agency and their affiliates and your set, this way through time you can weed out the bad ones slowly.
