My last wabash had handles in different locations, foot on bumper and grab handle to pull yourself up . Some of these truckers are so out of shape that even with handles and precautions they still get hurt .
MidwestResident and alds Thank this. -
i used to call the local fire dept each time. they'd send over the bucket truck, lift me up and i got to get inside.
seriously, man, use the darned ICC bumper, put one leg on that, then use your knee to get inside.
as for roll up doors, i tied a length of rope on the metal handle.
as for when i did flat bedding?
i called in the US Army, and they sent me a Huey.Tug Toy Thanks this. -
You use your knee? Might as well beach whale yourself over the ledge. Along with my telescopic pole, a few nylong slings, zip ties, duct tape, rope, I should be all set.

foot on ICC bumper. i am not 27 feet tall.
then i put my other knee into the trailer, then lift up.
easy-peasy.
you even a trucker to discount that method?
48 years, worked for me. -
My flatbed has holes at the back i can use to grab. Both feet on bumper and pull myself up

using the knee as a foot hold is big no no.

Hate to see some of you have to climb a chemical tanker and then walk the catwalk to tighten the washout caps!

That's why you get paid the extra cash and company has your insurance coverage just in case..MidwestResident Thanks this.
