I spoke to Blair yesterday and I have not shared my story here - there's way to many haters with expressive opinions - and I am not in the mood to have to defend myself. If you have not been in this sort of accident or worse - the shoulda coulda woulda stuff needs to stay at the door. I may start a thread on my accident with pics in the future but not here and now, out of respect for the OP.Brettj3876, NightWind, Bud A. and 13 others Thank this.

What a startling, and glaringly shocking post and a most riveting thread.
Please try to excuse any of the skeptics here, they are not haters.
I always try to encourage everyone in doubt with a vibrant pep talk, and a "You can do it."
This one's tough. Never been there; never want to be.
I'm no psychotherapist, but Bobby needs to mentally and physically get himself into "Today, the now,"
and leave a distinct delineation between TODAY, and yesterday; and that which is in the past.
Not only for his family, but his future mental state; and knowing this too will pass.
Don't be fragile. That is a vulnerable state of mind.
Shut that door!
In fact, get up and actually go slam a door, and walk away, symbolically closing yesterday off.
Say to yourself -
"I am slamming the door on the past!!
I am now in today, and going into tomorrow!!"
The symbolism reinforces in your mind your determination to move forward.
Sounds corny, but it works.
Good suggestion given to try yard jockey; you have a skill - use it.
Also suggestion to talk to campground about helping around there is good,
it may temporarily help take his mind off the trauma; a distraction to slip into "today, the now"
Saw a billboard today stating "A tow-truck driver is killed somewhere every 6 minutes."
I'm on the road constantly, and I realize it easily could have been me that was the chosen one.
I'm a world renowned, first class tight-wad, but send me the info to help also, please Muddydog79?
I once survived a month on a 20 lb. bag of potatoes, fixed 6 different ways, so I know the drill.Brettj3876, Bud A., tommymonza and 8 others Thank this. -
The tough talk in this thread is a form of self fortitude (hope that yourself can handle a similar situation) but who really knows until you have to walk in those shoes. I hope a few more members will consider a look at the go fund page their goal is modest. I think it would help restore his outlook on humanity because that getting robbed at the motel had to be a real low point. I’m thankful that the only road suicide I’ve had to deal with is woodland creatures.

U cant tell me U havent heard every sob story in the book from the low lifes that hang around truck drivers and scam our hard earned money. U ever run into the dude at the ta in redding selling fake cologne. Been giving the same sob story for 30 years apparently. Ive seen him atleast 3 times.. How bout the dumb idiot in jackson mississippi that came to jackson with another truck driver last thursday and needs money to get home to his kids ... ive seen that dude twice and ive been to jackson exactly twice. With 8 months apart... just a dumb scammer.. Truck stops is full of them....thats why we are skeptical with post like this ? Asking strangers for money... cant blame us for thinking its a scam ... never seen one that wasnt...Well it sucks what happened for her husband . Hope they can figure a way outCoffey, Sirscrapntruckalot and LoSt_AgAiN Thank this.
