I’m up on I-90 doing Tornado watch. Store load in Tacoma, Wa. Monday morning then Yakima to K.C. I checked the other day, and I haven’t had a week under 3,000 since I started except for one time off load. Great place to work.

Switching trucks yesterday really put me behind... shut down last night with like 15 minutes left on my 14... and 1,300 miles in two days left... (650/day... doable) but not today... hills and traffic put me behind and that 650 goal would put me on the far side of ATL... but with 11 dwindling down I didn’t think I could get around town and still find parking... so rest area, nope full, loves same... pull into Petro ... $25/night or spend $25... Found a hole to slide into, barely... with 12 left on my 11 (#### blind side backs)... Restaurant closed ten minutes before I walked up... few hassles in the C-Store, then they want “Cash Only”...

and I suppose they still want $25 for the night.

    I hate Truck Stops... lol

I stayed the night in Atlanta once when I was in training. Never again.
That kind of stuff is exactly why @runningman0661 starts his day at like 2am, ain't that right rm? :D

I do see value at starting early and shutting down early... plenty of parking... I even enjoyed the benefits of driving at night and sleeping during the day... when it was required.

But after a few days of it my body starts to rebel against me and I have to shift back to days.

I loved driving out West... I never move my “truck time” from eastern time so I’m always starting out a few hours earlier out there by default... works very nice... now, if I could just adjust my internal clock every day, and get the loads to work with me, I’d give it a try.

Well, final leg to South Florida... hoping to get on site and camp out there for the night... live unload at 7am then scoot up to Savannah for my next load.

    Stay Safe!!!

    :(
Let’s see... after orientation they sent me straight home to pickup stuff for my truck and take a 34, for a two week time period I have known exactly where my truck needed to be for at least the next THREE days... I have been able to plan my days the day before, if not two, instead of waiting and responding to Same Day Dispatching ... In that same time period I’ve talked to my DM only ONCE and it didn’t involve begging for a PrePlan... I’ve sent messages via QC and actually get a response... and after I drop in the morning in South Florida I’m heading to Savannah for a DnH and will be taking another 34... I burned through my 70 in 6.5 days and it’s been the most relaxing week I’ve had in some time...

So ya, thinking something feels different... :D

But... it’s not all sunshine and roses...
I do miss my Big Green Volvo... :(

Hey @Finfn1372 ... I hear rumors of some new Big Red Trucks coming in soon... you want me to reserve you one???

So frustrating to read this thread knowing FCC doesn't hire out of my home state of Virginia. I know it's still trucking but you guys definitely have a good thing going. Safe travels.
