I know going in I’m gonna take a huge hit financially and it’s truly gonna suck but long term it’ll be a better situation for me. I to am a bit of a rebel and enjoy the freedoms trucking gives me and I will have to give some of them up and conform to the ways of buster brownLtlAnonymous and Banker Thank this.

So is permanent on call better?. I'm willing to do whatever to get full time. Just not sure what the pros and cons are for permanent on call

With the amount of internet business they have now you may not have to take a big pay cut. Depending on the location many places are covered up and everyone is working.LtlAnonymous and Buffalonytrucker92 Thank this.

So you think I'll get full time quickly? The manager told me 1-1.5 years I'll be good. Unless sleeper teams open. Not alot of people want them. But those are easy six figure jobs

That's a really good idea. I thought about becoming a school bus driver. Says it's like $21.50 an hour.. it's more like January too March when it's slow. I though maybe becoming a glazier to industrial painter

I stopped getting notifications from this thread. Congratulations on getting in! I hope it's working as well as you'd hoped.
So my first "full year" there, I made mid-30s. That was utterly abysmal, and it hurt, but I was also laid off from January until the beginning of April. I was still seasonal and working sporadically for a lot of this year, and then I got hired for permanent in the fall.
My second full year, I made around 50k.
My third full year, I made 55k.
And then just like that, I jumped up to the mid-80s, and happy days were here again.
This year? Well, time will tell. I get the BIG raise this year.
But your experience will be totally different, if you're living in an area that starts guys out at $30 an hour. My starting pay hurt my feelings. lolBanker Thanks this.
