The whole mask thing is getting out of control. I see employees in truck stop with mask down so they can breath or talk. People say just wear a mask but I hear if you read the CDC guidance it also say don't touch your mask because that were all the covid is. We see people touching mask and face all day. Then they are making our food and stuff.

Has anyone noticed how we don't seem to hear about truck drivers getting covid, we are using Public bathrooms and public showers. The showers are probably best place to get covid. Small room and poor ventilation people are probably coughing and blowing nose and brushing teeth. Are they really cleaning the showers or bathrooms that good.

If anyone is at home and not a truck driver come on down to the truck stop. I'll pay for your shower and tell me if they are covid free. Ha ha

You are right about the effects on this Covid-19 hysteria on the entertainment business. I ceased operations permanently in March after 15 years in the power only business because of it.
You are dead wrong about the mask part of it.
Major league baseball started games, with no one in the stands. Why? If masks work, then what's the problem. Our biggest customer Disney on Ice cancelled all tours through the end of 2021. Why? It has nothing to do with masks. They are not going to book and pay for dozens of arenas when any of the cities they are in could arbitrarily cancel their use of the facility for any reason.
If masks were such an effective means, why did I go into 2 Walmarts today in NW Indiana where 50% of the EMPLOYEES were not wearing their masks properly, because they cannot do the manual labor( move pallets full of mdse on the sales floor) and breathe through a mask. The managers are fully aware they are not following company policy, but if they fire them, they won't have any employees left.
You make critical assumptions about masks which are incorrect. That everyone will wear them properly, and they are made of an effective material. Neither of which is valid.
Masks are nothing but a cruel joke driven now by public relations and corporate think, not science.

Probably because there is much more nasty stuff in truckstops .. Our immune system can fight it. I see alot of older truckers walking around with no mask, still working and running miles. Not to mention alot of truckers u would think are the at risk group being most of us have bad health and very high stress levels... but ur right dont ever hear about truckers getting it

It is Absolute complete BS. The tests are totally bogus.

My close friend I spent the weekend with his Dr wife has her own practice in the Tampa area.

She has taken the test 5 times since she got stranded in Peru when this all went down. 3 out of the 5 tested positive over 3 months now.

At anytime she has not had any symptoms.

Older Patients she sees who were tested positive having no symptoms.

    The testing is totally Skewed.

7 thousand people a day have been dying in the United States the past decade.

Don’t believe me. Death rate in America is .08%

    Look it up.

So what is the daily death rate of Covid these days ?

What is the daily death rate from non Covid these day?

Bring those numbers to the table and let’s Talk Science.

99% of people have no ability to think for themselves

JAMA editorial reviews latest science, while case study shows masks prevented COVID spread

Americans are increasingly adopting the use of cloth face masks to slow the spread of COVID-19, and the latest science may convince even more to do so.

In an editorial published today in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), CDC reviewed the latest science and affirms that cloth face coverings are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19 that could reduce the spread of the disease, particularly when used universally within communities. There is increasing evidence that cloth face coverings help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others.

“We are not defenseless against COVID-19,” said CDC Director Dr. Robert R. Redfield. “Cloth face coverings are one of the most powerful weapons we have to slow and stop the spread of the virus – particularly when used universally within a community setting. All Americans have a responsibility to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.”

This review included two case studies out today, one from JAMA, showing that adherence to universal masking policies reduced SARS-CoV-2 transmission within a Boston hospital system, and one from CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), showing that wearing a mask prevented the spread of infection from two hair stylists to their customers in Missouri.

Additional data in today’s MMWR showed that immediately after the White House Coronavirus Task Force and CDC advised Americans to wear cloth face coverings when leaving home, the proportion of U.S. adults who chose to do so increased, with 3 in 4 reporting they had adopted the recommendation in a national internet survey.

The results of the Missouri case study provide further evidence on the benefits of wearing a cloth face covering. The investigation focused on two hair stylists — infected with and having symptoms of COVID-19 — whose salon policy followed a local ordinance requiring cloth face coverings for all employees and patrons. The investigators found that none of the stylists’ 139 clients or secondary contacts became ill, and all 67 clients who volunteered to be tested showed no sign of infection.

The finding adds to a growing body of evidence that cloth face coverings provide source control – that is, they help prevent the person wearing the mask from spreading COVID-19 to others. The main protection individuals gain from masking occurs when others in their communities also wear face coverings.

COVID-19 prevention in a Missouri hair salon

When two stylists at a Missouri hair salon tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19, researchers from CoxHealth hospitals, Washington University, the University of Kansas, and the Springfield-Greene County Health Department worked together to trace contacts, investigate the cases, and publish their findings in the MMWR.

One of the stylists developed respiratory symptoms but continued to see clients for eight days. The other, who apparently became infected from her co-worker, also developed respiratory symptoms and continued to see clients for four days.

The salon in which they worked had a policy requiring both stylists and their clients to wear face coverings, consistent with the local government ordinance. Both stylists wore double-layered cloth face coverings or surgical masks when seeing clients. The median appointment time was 15 minutes and ranged from 15 to 45 minutes. More than 98% of clients wore a face covering—47% wore cloth face coverings, 46% wore surgical masks, and about 5% wore N-95 respirators.

The scary things about covid are the unknowns. Scientists are now saying we do not develop immunity to this virus. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what that means. The flu virus, the vaccines they create each year at best are like 10 to 20% effective. The coronavirus likely will be no different if they truly can develop a vaccine at all. An RNA vaccine which is what they’re trying to develop has never been successfully created for a virus like this.
The virus will mutate and it will not go away it will be here each year just like the flu and circle the globe. Will it become more lethal or less lethal is the billion dollar question. We don’t know. But we do know as human species living on a rock floating around in space we will be dealing with this nasty virus probably for the rest of our lifetimes as will our children.

there are now several documented cases of people who have gotten the virus, thought they were over it and then later tested positive and scientists are thinking they may not have gotten over the virus after all. It may work in the body much like HIV. Every day they’re discovering new symptoms. Mouth lesions, upper chest and back rashes, blood clots, stroke, heart inflammation other organ damage, you name it. If this virus Is able to somehow get in side of people and then lie dormant somewhere not completely be eradicated and then later flares up, that’s a world changer right there. That’s a life as we know it changer.

All that said? This could be nothing more than somethings slightly more severe than the common cold and will just deal with it and have a new virus that sticks around to add to the flu and cold viruses. Time will tell which it is.
