    Do i need to put in tbe more pricy Alterbator vs. the cheaper.
    Pros and cons.
    I dobt mind putting in a bigger /better " just wonder is it worth it.

    Depends on your needs if you want more amps.

    You get what you pay for. Sometimes cheap isn't the way to go.

    It’s been a few years so it may have changed, but advance auto had no core charge on starters and alternators. You’ll need the part number to order. Then you can take the old one to get rebuilt.

    question is, are you buying a rebuilt unit, or brand new. each will have a different warranty as well as of course, pricing.

    you can try a truck parts store, rather than a dealership, AC/Delco always had great alternators, starters.

    core charges i think are high, and if the case is cracked, or broken, may not be acceptable. meaning no money off the new unit. you would want a National Warranty, like AC/Delco would have, over say a "driveway warranty", which expires when you drive off....the lot.
