I live in NC. What is the miles like in this region? What is hometime? Are there any terminals in this region?
-
mc not to sure im goin to be leaving from cleveland ohio, but after i finsh im moving back to charlotte, i think there is a terminal around there, where are you from mceheel? in nc
-
Stevens Transport has one terminal, and that is dallas texas. There are a few drop yards located around the country, but that is all they are for, is to drop a trailer at, or park the company tractor at when you go on home time.
Home time with Stevens is 1 day for every 7 you are out, capped at 5 days of home time. You may loose your tractor if you stay home longer than that at one time.
Miles into the North East good, Miles out Bad. For the first year at least you will run all 48 states, Stevens is not a regional carrier. After that you can ask to be in a comfort zone. But that also means your miles will drop, as you have just limited your options for loads. -
Do all of Stevens trucks have apu's?

I 'ver been reading this thread for about 3 hours( yeah this is my 1st post or reply )
I'm going to US truck school in michigan in about 4 weeks
Does anybody know anything about this school ?????
Three companies i think still hiring out of michigan are Stevens, Conanvant and TRans Am.............so far Steven's seem to be the best.
Has anyone driven for the other two ???
my class will be paid for by the stare-no worker left behind act - so i won't be stuck if iget into a "not so good " company....
I got laid off back in may ................. and i drove a stake truck for 8 years CDL class C with Hazmat.........so I know just enough to get me in trouble i suppose...........please give some things to expect TY RJT -

Every new truck Stevens buys gets an APU, they don't put them in older trucks that haven't been sold off yet. I'm sitting in one. Eventually they all will. It's just the luck of the draw, but you can pretty much count on getting an older truck when you go grad fleet. I think when you grad from grad fleet they give you a newer truck, but I won't count that chicken until I'm sitting in it.
