Hi guys I'm looking at purchasing a truck with ONLY A "CAT" motor.
I gross roughly 75 to 80 tonns, what would be better suited a 6nz or 3406? I need a minimum horse power rating of 550.
Could they both reach 600 with a good custom tune or either would require upgrades to run well.
I'm new and would really love some information about this. I'm looking for either a w900, t800 or 379 with 4.11 rears. 98-07

I am confused! What Cat engine is the 6nz associated with?

I googled that also. We have a 3406E 6NZ mongongaloid thing around here. Explains some of my confusion and parts problems in the past. The aluminum Cat data tag is filled in with an engraver. Explains some of my confusion.
Whatever it is it does a good job.AModelCat Thanks this. -

I know, I've got a 14L 515 60 series.
I'm looking for a bigger motor that can pull the weight even easier -
The pre-EGR 14L is every bit as good as a C15/3406E. Just ask @swaan.
