Thank you very much. I really think I will like it at DOT. They really seem to be ahead of the game in the trucking world. No company is perfect but DOT seems to be doing a lot of things right. One really nice thing I like is during training they pay for all your meals. Not cold sandwiches but real meals for a restaurant. That is really nice. I don't have to worry about finding money to eat with. Thanks for all your help, I will keep you updated on my progress.

I told you will pass your test no need to worry that what I was doing. That is so wonderful keep me post you have my number if you need any thing.

You may just be misinformed. I frequently unloaded at places alongside DOT foods. The lumpers got 100% of what they charged. There were some docks where the lumpers got 65% which is a whole lot more than $10hr. It sounds like DOT foods is a little fairer than I thought. I bet they arent paying .05 cents per case like some lumpers charge. Thats $300 on a 6000 case load. Unloading is hard on your body. If I'm unloading I want to get the going rate. Thats just me.

Thanks man. I am just getting ready to leave my house for my 1st run. I will tell you all how it went when I get back, I should be back around 5pm on Wednesday.

Well brother I ain't misinformed! The only place a lumper gets 100% of what they charge is if it's outside lumpers being allowed in to a place to unload which is almost unheard of anymore at least the places I go to. A place that has a lumper service, the actual lumpers that unload the truck do not get even close to 65% from what I'm told. I know alot of these lumpers very well because I talk to them all the time on the docks and get the same story from all of them and none of them even come close to what I'm making. Most of them average out to about $15 hr with some at the low end as little as $10 hr. I'm also sure there a plenty that make quite a bit more than that also.
No big suprise there alot of people talk #### about things that they really have no idea what they are talking about for some reason.
No we make $.06 a case and $.20 per line item, plus $25 for everytime we bump a dock, plus, plus, plus, plus, plus and I get paid for everything I do. -
That doesnt sound too bad. I hate lumpers. If I owned a company my drivers to unload. A lot of companies that run reefers will pay the drivers a flat rate like $80. The driver then has to make a choice if he wants to pay difference. I'm sure you understand my skepticism. Its a good discussion
-
Yes I understand your skepticism. I hate lumpers too but they actually like us because they hate our loads! They are really not bad once you get used to them but those lumpers run when they see our trucks coming LOL. I would laugh at a company that wanted me to unload a full truck for $80 but I know alot of them do try to get drivers to do it.
