I wish you luck and hope it works out for you. This forum is a great place to get good info and to learn. Some folks here can be discouraging... but many are not, and will provide you with good solid knowledge based on years of experience behind the wheel.

My words of wisdom to any rookie... Take your time, pay attention, and respect the power you control when behind the wheel of a Rig. A single moment of carelessness or distraction can completely destroy the lives of yourself and others.

I actually know personally how in a split second your whole life can change. When I was in 5th grade a truck ran a red light and over the top of my Mom's van. It was very traumatic as a small child seeing your Mom trapped in a car just screaming. It took almost 2 hours to get the truck off of her and cut her out of the van and when she got to the hospital the Doctors took us to her room to say goodbye really quick before she was rushed to surgery because they thought she'd lost too much blood to survive. GOOD NEWS though, she did! Her leg is constructed with rods, screws, plates and pins but it's amazing that she not only lived through it but didn't lose her leg. The images of that day have popped up in my head and I just have to remember that day as a child because I don't want any family to go through that. I also have to make sure that I don't let that incident doesn't make me a "scared" driver. My Dad used to race and he always told me nothing good comes out of a driver making scared decisions behind a wheel, that you have to be certain of your decisions and if you second guess it then just stay where your at!!
I'm sure that this will be in my mind the 1st day behind the wheel but I won't dwell on. If I thought that would honestly affect me as a driver then I would never get behind the wheel!

Thank you though for being kind and supportive!!! I appreciate it!

You might also consider Magnum www.magnumlog.com , if you have a good driving record a lot of companies will be interested in bringing you on.
