I just recieved a reply back from my application...Was turned down for training because I have 2 misd. on my record from over 10 years ago. They said that if you have more than one they won't let you cross over into Canada. This was a real let down. I was looking forward to traing with them.

Hi gr56_tn hope all is going well for you, on the freightliner the brake pedal is the reset for your cruise control. Every time trk is shut down and restarted you have to reset cruise, when you release your parking brakes apply your foot brake and cycle the cruise on/off switch and cruise is ready. Hope this helps, im 7/4 - 7/3 out of st louis and enjoy reading about your journey with roehl. good luck and be safe

    grc56_tn Thanks this.

I talked to SNI about 2 days ago on the phone. They told me they are NOT hiring students. Only guys with CDL's already. So I tried Central, England, and a few others. Even got turned down by Stevens! What makes me mad is the fact I have to write in to ask them why I got turned down? Why can't they just tell me over the phone? I was really looking forward to going with Roehl, but it looks like now they are a waste of my time and effort.

There must be a reason why you keep getting turned down. Driving record? Any arrests? Job history?

The only 2 things that it could be is my work history, or credit report. The rest of my stuff is clear for the most part. I don't think they wouldn't hire me because of a disorderly fine that I haven't paid yet, but that could be the reason as well. Other then that, I have no drug charges, and a clean record. I will be writing a letter to them to find out. And I will post the reason if I feel everyone should know about it.

I agree, something must be wrong. Although, I can understand Schneider turning people away. Only a few months ago they weren't hiring at all, and now they're hiring experienced here and there. That's not how Roehl operates.

The problem I had though was when I was filling out the application I mis read it, I thought it meant just all driving jobs, as not just regular jobs. As the same with the Millis ap. If this is the case, I can provide a job history, but also I have been in college the past 3-4 years, they don't ask you that. They just ask you for work history. Well if I've been a fulltime student for 4 years, I sure the heck am not working. Some of these companies I can see a reason for this, like government or federal jobs, but a truck driver? Back in 05 I could have gone with anyone I wanted too, and I was in the same situation I'm in now, except I have a fine I have to pay, and without a job I sure can't pay it. Whatever the reason is, I am pretty upset over it as Roehl has been my first choice since I was old enough to even know what a Truck was. Like I said, I guess they don't want someone who loves trucks and is dedicated and will keep the truck nice and clean. They just want people to fill seats up or stearing wheel holders as I call them, not a guy that's gonna bust hump and treat a company truck like his own. Unfortunatley, I wish I could fight it, but like I said, they wouldn't even tell me the reason on the phone, which is stupid. It might not even be worth my time to fight it. With everything else going on, it's not worth my time to fight it really if I could. Not like I can pretend to be someone else when they ask you your SSN. So if any Roehl employees are reading this, thank you for showing me that your company pretty much SUCKS! Dumbaxx's!

You sure are showing with your attitude that Roehl may have seen more about you than you thought. The economy sucks so the quality of people trying to get hired by Roehl has gone up. There were probably a couple hundred applications where the person had a solid work history and no trouble with the law. You make a statement calling all Roehl employess "Dumbaxx's" real mature. I as a Roehl driver are glad they didn't hire you. Just by your attacks on the Roehl employees shows your inability to hold your emotions which could be dangerous on the road. Great call Roehl by sending this yahoo down the road.
