As long as you get paid, is the main thing. You could be working for a big dollar co. and only get one load a week and sitting the rest of the time waiting and hoping and spending all the big money u made. No matter how much u make there will always be someone claiming to make more! I pay my drivers a $1,000,000 amile but they don,t take home a cent. :biggrin_25518:

Are the problems with G Wide or with leftover employees from the old co? the only problems I,ve had are with TYSON Dispatchers that evidently g-Wide can,t fire or control.

Problem is they hire to many trucks... Went to a centralized dispatch system that doesnt work for the account I am on.. they want to say it is not force dispatch but turn down a load and see what gsc does (central dispatch) they just took .03 cpm away from all new hires. Want 100% legal until they need you to run over hours then they tell you to run the load or they will repower it at revenue loss to you. You have to pay the truck from his start location through the load, I know this for fact as I was one told to do it.. have it recorded too... and no I didn't run it.. I reported it to safety. Other than them not being honest and upfront I don't have a problem with them...

At Tyson the claim is that the dispatchers are employed by GW, but from my xperiance with them they are directly controlled by Tyson and no one else. Some of them do not like GW and are always causing problems.Oh Well moving on to GW/Sysco, Front Royal Va any known problems here?

I claim only 1 till around august and then bump it to 3 and works out to a pretty good tax return, usually around $2500.

I have worked for this company about 4 years now at a wal-mart dedicated terminal. I do however have allot of contacts within the company at other divisions. This is the way it works people we get our loads from the customer and central disptach allows the drivers to pick them in a PTA board order. Now this leave room for error since people are giving the loads out and certain dispatch favors certain drivers. The problem is that high mgmnt doesnt seem to care as long as the company gets thier cut of the revenue, which is way above industry standard. We used to care about our drivers but not anymore. I have O/Os that have worked here for years that are being left behind and going broke because we have to many trucks and because the new trucks make 3 cents less a mile.

Look at it all this way. IF your truck is paid for and you dont have allot of operating expenses it would be a great place to work. If you have kids to feed and a house you are paying on avoid this place at all costs or at least look into it throughly before jumping into a decision you WILL NOT get rich working here.

The only time I see great wide is at wal-mart distribution centers...and all the owner operator trucks i see rolling in or parked look like show trucks...

I'm talken super clean, shiny sparkly...they just look like $money$ trucks...

So i always assumed great wide was owned by wal-mart...

Seems like their walmart drivers do well...judging by the trucks I use to see...
