You seem to do it so it's possible but you must be flying speed wise, not sure if you were running paper or ELD. Just the 4300 miles would be to much for most people I think. It to much time driving, are you running paper ? Or ELD
What is EXCELLENT pay for experienced company hands?

Too Much like punching a clock to Run like that. But to each their own.
Once I found out my work didn't care if I drove 3500 or 2500 in a week I chose the lesser of the 2 evils
In the end I made more money in layover and accessory pay by not rushing around all the time.Cattleman84 Thanks this. -
700 or 800 miles a day.
Not this cowboy anymore.
550ish is more my cup of tea now.
600 for a few days, ok. But not all the time.D.Tibbitt and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
I don't come close to those kinda miles. I did 477 miles yesterday my highway average was 61 mph and average for the day was 38 mph. Running my full 14 hour clock out for the day. The load was 3 hour late getting loaded. Plus a live unload running regional.

D.Tibbitt and tommymonza Thank this. -
The biggest things preventing you from getting those kind of miles are region and short runs. Anything north or east of Pittsburgh and the traffic gets really bad. And only having a few hundred miles between pick and drop also hinders high mileage days.

Quick comments:
Insurance is expensive and you only need it if you are critically injured or very sick, so take a higher deductable and lower your premiums. Chances are you will never break the min deductable for the policy to kick in and the co pay gets you an annual check up. Children are either healthy or sickly...that pretty bride, if she gets knocked up...you should pay out of pocket over 9 months and then you will have a gift without the burden.
As I posted 2000 per week gross , covers all your expenses including out of pocket medical. If it dont, you need to learn how to manage your expenses.
Retirement: do your family a big favor, get into a mutual fund and save a minimum of 10 a day or in a compound annual growth interest bearing account / saving tax free IRA or some method to put aside money for college and retirement expenses. If you have a working wife, save 50 percent of her income for short term expenses and use three separate accounts. One for bills, one for long term savings and one for investing in your future.
Look at the big picture....living is easy when you have enough to money manage your expenses but you have to set and reach your goal to be successful. No one cares about you making money except you as the producer.
Now for the rub.....you really need to buy a 3 year old truck and start working for yourself.Last edited: Aug 10, 2020
