I was just reading that. Oregon and PA along with other states like KY have been enforcing passenger vehicles.
I like hearing about stuff like that.. It makes me feel alot less belittled
I was reading statistics on Oregon's little blitz last night, and they did give some nice statistics about how involving big-truck crashes a large percentage of the time was not the CDL holders fault.. That makes me smile.
We really do try to be safe, at least I do.. We might not always be angels but we'd never hurt anybody on purpose. -
So what's next? Guarantee every American a good living salary? Minimum wage is about $7.35 an hour, any thing after that is up to you. Perhaps you could work two jobs and stay home more?
Sheesh.

Regardless of where you log you have to log a change of duty status. The fact the truck will eventually leave the gated T/S makes it subject to the rules.

Regardless of where the truck is? If a truck is in an empty field, because it will eventually get back on the road, the field is a highway. Nope, sorry. You just contradicted the rules you quoted.

It doesn't matter where the change of duty status occurred as once the driver hits the highway they are subject to the rules. So if a vehicle is operated inside a gated T/S or any other location the log must reflect either:
1. Off-Duty
2. Sleeper Berth
3. Driving
4. On-duty not driving
The driver is not subject to the rules inside the gated T/S; however, they are subject to the rules once the vehicle hits the highway; therefore, the log must accurately reflect the drivers status.

I'll bet you can drive your 250k a year working as much overtime as you want, amirite?
Also, Minimum wage doesn't apply to us.. Many drivers out there don't even make that if you factor in -all- time worked.

Why complain and B^tch. Walmart, McDonalds and 7-11 are hiring. Go get your minimum wage and get paid for every hour worked. I wished I would get paid for every hour worked as well, but what the h^ll, I don't. No sense is crying and moaning about stuff you will not change. -
Good point bear, but... it could be changed if we stand together on it. That's the problem, no one stands together. It is true though if you factor in all the hours we work, you'd probably go "Oh my God I'm only making that??"
