Going to be working on a diet these next few months. Dot card expires in November, it looks as though my fasting blood sugar is been around 120. What kind of a medical card can I get with this level blood sugar?

@Moose1958 to the rescue. What would we do without Moose!
LimpyLegs Thanks this. -
get out and walk, 1/4 to 1/2 a mile daily, at least once per day, cut down the high calorie, high fructose and other sugars. drink your coffee black, watch the carbs.
read the serving size labels on all foods. if it says ONE cookie is a serving size, then you can only eat ONE cookie.LimpyLegs Thanks this. -
Not really the question I asked

Don't eat foods with sugar and dont eat carbohydrates. Because they turn into sugar in your body. 120 blood sugar is pretty good. 140 and up are getting high. You would be surprised how much stuff has sugar in it.

no it's not the question you asked. but if you do as suggested you could very well get that 2 year card.
as it stands now, i do believe you're only gonna get a 3 month card, and go thru a bunch of BS time after time.LimpyLegs Thanks this. -
If sugar is detected by the little strip test, they will do a Random Blood Test. It has to show less than 250 to get a 3 month card. You will be required to get an A1C that shows less than 10 to get a full one year card if you you doctor states you have it under control with oral meds.LimpyLegs Thanks this.

My blood sugar stays around 100 and I'm 6'5, 310 lbs. My problem is the sodium, I love those fries.

They dip a test strip in your urine sample. If your blood sugar is at 120 you will be fine. But keep working one the diet. Good for you!Sirscrapntruckalot and LimpyLegs Thank this.

It's simple don't eat carbs they are fuel that your not going to burn sitting on your ###.
