Inframed one of our maxxforce dt466 in a school bus. Used interstate mcbee kit. Pistons were mahle, bearings were in the identical box the Navistar ones came in. Head gasket looked identical to oem. Oil pan gaskets and front cover seals were crap. 3 years and 60 000km school bus miles later, all good.

I used IPD on my cat a few years and 200,000 miles and no issues. Ipd has pretty good reviews. A few issues with liners but I've heard way more good than bad. They do some interesting stuff too, 17 liter accert kits or 16:1 compression kits for accerts too

Yeah I’ve heard 99% good experiences with IPD I should just go with their kit but the mcbee kit is on sale over $1000 cheaper than ipd and pai kits from my supplier,but I suppose it’s way more than a grand to tear down the engine if the kits no good lol

Its hard to get a good review on anything aftermarket just because there are so many people that just say if its not OEM its junk even if they don't have any actual experience with it. Or they heard about someone else having problems second hand. Well guys sometimes have issue with OEM too.
I bought a PAI oil cooler once, had heard all good reviews on them. When I got mine it had been milled down to far and would not fit. I returned it and bought a OEM. I dont think all aftermarket is junk now.
I'm running IPDs one piece steel piston and I think its probably higher quality than the factory 2 piecespsauerland Thanks this. -
When I rebuilt my top end I used a combination of Interstate McBee and PAI parts
The Interstate McBee gaskets looked like they were cut out with a dull beaver and the guy applying the sealer was drunk. PAI gaskets were precisely cut and the sealant beads were in the right spot
That's my limited experience with IM
