I'm also curious about the lawsuits. I will be going with them myself in the next 30 days.

I'm scheduled to start on the 5th. I agree that it would be nice to meet up with others here. Just gotta hope we all make it through. From reading these forums it seems the attrition rate is absurd.

That's one area that does have me concerned. Perhaps there simply isn't much time, opportunity or inclination to post on these forums once you're out with a trainer, but that does seem to be when the updates end here.

I'd love to know why, but unfortunately, the ones that know why they stop posting are the ones that...stopped posting. Perhaps the Vets could offer some insight?

As for me posting, I'd probably wait until after I passed, then do a recap. Would feel foolish to document day by day only to arrive at "Today I failed..hard, thinking that prison would at least offer room and board and that it's a bad day to be on my ##### list". j/k

Oddly enough, now that Central has said "Come on down" a couple of the other places I applied to ( not in the transportation field) have called me. Could just be seasonal hiring, or perhaps companies are starting to have faith that the economy is going to start recovering soon.

Sounds like JJ is doing well. I dropped at C&S in VT yesterday morning. Man, talk about some tight backing. Students, hope you and your trainer get several like that before you go solo. D/H'd 320 miles to Berwick, PA and am on my way to Ft Worth. Little over 1800 paid miles for this one. Woo hoo!!!!!!!! Going to have to watch my time on this one and will probably have to find someplace by the shipper and wait till midnight before being able to move. Probably be in Little Rock tomorrow.

According to a current student, 6 of his 12 class mates who went out with a trainer are no longer with Central.

1/ Central have a high turnover rate.

2/ Some get out with trainers and can't handle the stress of driving in traffic.

3/ Some have an accident during training.

4/ Some have a problem with the trainer and just quit.

5/ A lot are training to drive a truck as the last resort, no other work available and can't handle being away from the family.

I'm going on the 12th, but I'm going to Riverside/Fontana. I see you are in Phoenix, where are they sending you?

Well my last day at work is tomorrow, I sold a boat a few weeks ago and get my normal paycheck plus commission...plus 15 days worth of vacation I had left...I'm almost getting a month and half's pay on my final check! I'll definitely have enough money to get me through the next couple months =)

From what I heard in North Carolina a 4wheeler crossed yellow line and rammed head on into one of our trucks. The driver and passenger (a child) were killed. Our driver was in no way at fault, however he was talking on the phone and he was also 15 minutes over on his elogs (from what I hear he was less than 5 miles from a truckstop)

well I hear the lawyer for the vics have supenoed the drivers cell and qualcomm records, and they have filed a $30 million suit against central, that's all I know, they will probably settle for less than that.

However they said we maid 3.5mil profit from the first two quarters of the year, if they settle every cent of that will go to the families of the people who got smooshed.

Personally I don't think they should settle however juries like grieving families especially when a child becomes road jelly
