Well welcome to 2020, the new age of man-bun truckers where eld and insurance run the industry. I have omnitraxs and you can get by with some stuff but not much. If you want to run paper buy a glider truck.

the ELD neutering the truck when over hrs is set up by the truck owner/company.
some companies don't do that.
if it's your truck why would set it up that way.

I thought dot set the hours. And the company abides by the hours.

If you need it to be legal buy a simple device such as the Blue Ink Tech ELD. There are no subscription fees and it just records the basic info.

yes, the DOT sets the hrs.
