Actions speak louder than words, as they say. Their words are safety and efficiency, while the actions procuce carnage.

Anybody who thinks that the "supervisor" is going to be able to take over in an emergency is very sadly mistaken. Do they honestly expect that the person supervising will be paying attention to the road after even an hour out on the road?

All I know these rich investors and companies aren’t building these systems just to have them not hit the road.

they will lobby Congress and get laws passed preventing lawsuits when it’s determined it’s not the trucks fault.

First step as I said before is sack of meat in the drivers seat,

    second step is remote operator

3rd step one remote operator driving maybe 3-5 trucks.

somewhere between 2nd and 4th step is platooning,

4th step increase trucks per remote operators

5th step Now semi remove remote operators because that costs money as well and introduce partial AI ( just like meat sack in drivers seat )

6th step fully introduce AI to take over remote operators

7th step increase trucks per AI control

8th step rinse and repeat until ( beaming technology is invented )

9th step rinse repeat beaming technology until ( replicators are invented )

    you get the idea.

in the end we are just going to wish for crap and it appears in front of us.

But self driving tech is happening. And steps 1-3 are becoming a reality slowly.

    Bud A. Thanks this.

But in our life time the most we'll see is use on line-haul on highways.

BTW once you get to AI level you don't really have a limit on the number of trucks they can control.
