Good question. We use most of our 70.

We don't care about mileage, we're percentage.

 

Talk to drivers you know,,,lure one away from their current position. I've been head hunted a few times, only one of those I am considering at a later date. The good drivers already have a job. Good luck

We got an excellent insurance rate by requiring a minimum of five years of "comparable experience". The insurance company's definition of comparable experience pertains mostly to the type of hauling, whether it's off road, mountains, OS/OW, logging, or hazmat. They'll bend a little if the applicant has five years of specialized hauling, like fuel tankers or pneumatics but doesn't have a lot of mountain experience.
I know that wouldn't work for a lot of companies but it definitely has it's advantages.
By the time a driver applies to us he's already made most of the common rookie mistakes and cost somebody else money by tearing up their equipment.
