The article say's that Truck numbers are down, and yet (A great example is right now there are fewer CDL drivers on the road, hauling fewer loads and yet the number of traffic citations appears to remain constant and possibly even growing.)
This is a problem for US TRUCKERS!!!!!!!
Watch your tail while out on the ROAD, and BE SAFE!!!!!!!

You didnt thinkthese cities and states were just going to give up on that much needed revenue did you?
I wonder how many times we can keep watering the Governor's or Mayor's lawn before the well drys up?
I bet we run out of money long before they run out of tickets!

We have always been the cash cows of the highways. It would be in your best interest to obey all of the laws. Speeding, following to close and log books etc. If you are an O/O, all tickets will be on you. You already know that. Hopefully, if you are a company driver, your company provides you with owners responcibility documentation. Mine does. It covers registration, loading, weight and mechanical. The company is responcible for that. Everything else is on us.

We are our own worst enemy. Don't give them any reason to pull you over. If you need to violate the law in order to make a living or get the load there on time, you need to find a different company.

    Drive safe

Years ago (gonna show my age), I remember hearing about the famous "Dear Abby" answer to a teen who complained about her mother always complaining about the youngster not cleaning her room, not doing her homework, and getting up late (or things of that nature). The teen asked what she should do.

DA said "Clean your room. Do your homework. Get up on time".

    Simple.

Don't tailgate. Don't make unsafe lane changes. Be a pro.
    Don't give 'em a reason.

I have been driving only a couple of years however, I have seen the way people drive with an absolute disregard for safety. I think law enforcement could generate lots of money if they simply cracked down on these people. Drivers that tailgate, pull back in front of you without assured clear distance, drivers that speed, etc. have it coming. These drivers are in automobiles and trucks. I do hold truck drivers to a higher standard because they do it day in and day out. They should know better. Law enforcement does need to crack down on all drivers irregardless of what vehicle they are in.

Here is some thing that should strike fear into each and every driver on the road.

I know some will say..... "If you don't break the law you got nothing to worry about".

Well it would be nice if thats the way it REALLY was. How many have gotten bogus and BS tickets? I have. Got a 10 over once when I was not 10 over. Another truck had just passed me, the fuzz was on his way home and too lazy to run down the other driver, so he pulled me over. Easy for him, and I got screwed.

I woud like to see the police give tickets to the 4 wheelers that come out on the freeway then zip out in front of everyone to the far left lane then zip back over cutting everyone off again to get off on the exit, where are the police when all this happens? or the 4 wheelers going the wrong way on the freeway. Trucks just must sound like and make more money for the cities and states.
