As long as your vision is corrected with glasses to the DOTs needed vision numbers then you will have no problem.
There was a guy at the central school when I did my refresher that did not pass the eye exam. One eye was good, the other was about half blind.
    This throws off depth perception.
He got Doctors notes and everything else, but it would not get him past a DOT physical.

My Eye Doctor knew I was going to drive trucks and he didn't seem concerned so I imagine I'm ok. I can see out of both eyes about the same, it's just everything is somewhat blurry at a distance. I wear glasses and just renewed my prescription. I should be close to, if not at, 20/20 corrected.

    Coalheart,
I have some insight for you:
When you are getting ready for school, there is a lot of downtime. It is easy to come online and participate in the forum. Once you are on the road with your trainer, the days fly by and there just isn't enough time to come online and check in.

As for the students who do not make it, this is a VERY emotional time for them. They have invested much time and resources into this career and for whatever reason it doesn't work out for them. They have a hard enough time explaining to their friends and family why they didn't make it and I don't really blame them if they don't feel they can come back here and update us. I think the best we can do is make this forum a place where people feel comfortable to come back and feel supported.

Hope this helps, and good luck to all of you!!!!!!!

    Hey Jess and JJ,
Dern sure glad its JJ doing all those drops in Chicago. Ain't no place there that doesn't blow one way or the other tho VT was very, very close. There you have to do a true 90 with at least 2 or 3 pull ups plus you have to watch the passenger side to make sure you don't hit the wall. Students and wannabes, heres a hint. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO GOAL!!!!!!! Get out and look. Watched this driver with 15 yrs experience ( I talked to him) and he dang sure did. It is that kind of place.

Didn't make it to Little Rock. Came up 30 miles short. Didn't quite think I had the time to make it. Am 30 minutes shy of my 70 as it is. Good thing 9.75 hrs drop at midnight. That gives me 10 for tomorrow and no fuel stops, thank goodness. Had to do 2 of those today. Hate them bean counters.

I do believe that TA is makiing up for my crummy miles last time out with all the sitting. I've got more miles this period than I've ever had!!! Really wish I could recommend my company to other drivers but its such a crap shoot with these DMS. If I could guarantee you'd get mine, I'd say come on over.

    Hey all,
I have been looking at all my options. I have looked into getting state (WIA) funding for an independent truck school as well as different company training. I have been interested in Central since I first became interested in trucking. All of you on here (I have read all 600+ pages) seem pretty happy with Central. How are they now? Is the mileage still good?
