I talked to an CRS O/O today in Florida and I asked him what his payment was with insurance he said around 815 a week. I thought that was kinda high, and i asked him how fast does his truck go he said 64.5 mph. I can't believe they govern the trucks that slow but I guess its for insurance purposes. The poor guy was telling how central promised him 3000 miles a week and that wasnt true.
One good thing he did say is that he enjoyed the school which was $1200.

Hmm... I would definitely not call it a scam. It's pretty close, but not quite the right word. They are in the business of making money, and this is one way they know how to do it. The $100 thing is fairly new which I think is a rotten thing to do... but they do it because they can. They fork out some pretty big money for the Dr's to come and do a physical, and the physical therapists to do the workwell, and for the drug tests, and the cost of the background checks. Heck, I would probably start charging too. How much would it cost you to go get a physical, and a drug test, and a background check. I have awesome insurance and still I paid $20 bucks for physical , $25 for a drug test, and $50 for a background check all before I left. Heck, that is almost $100 bucks there. You ain't even an employee and you expect them to pay it for you. It makes total sense to me. It's rotten... but it makes sense. lol
If you know you are not going to pass, then why even go? Why pay them $100 to tell you that you are not good enough? I basically knew beforehand what to expect the first day, I would definitely not have come had I not known.
I checked my background beforehand just to make sure that all is A-OK there. That there are no warrants or something that I didn't know. I knew I would pass physical and that I would pass the drug test, so those things didn't concern me. I would recommend to people that they check this on their own before coming... or going to any school that would check backgrounds.

Everything is pretty clear when you sign the school agreement what is going to happen on your check for paying back the school loan. I read over everything and everything looked perfectly fine to me.

Congratulations to all those that made it thru!

Yep... leased trucks. You don't own them, Central still practically does. You just have certain rights to these trucks but they get to set the governer.

School isn't 1200. It may have been a while back... but now it is $3000, and a $100 application fee. If you stick with the company you will end up paying about $1200.

I think that if they are going to charge the 100 they should give it back when you go out with a trainer. They pay you 100 for orentation still right? So when you complete orentation they should pay 200.
I mean if you fail the background for lieing, or fail the drug screen that is your own fault.
They should not be hurt financially for someone lieing to them.

Anyone starting school on the 12th? Just got off the phone with security and my recruiter and everything is a go. Thanks to all the people who have kept updates from their experiences at Central (good and bad) It is nice to make a informed decision about something so big.

Well, our class is finally over, everyone is assigned a trainer, and nobody has to wait any longer than Saturday to leave. I meet up with my trainer tomorrow! The next adventure begins.
