so whats the point of a lease agreement?
-
Do they know that you broke your back on personal time? If your answer is "YES", it wasn't your boss, it was the behind the scenes beancounters. The odds are pretty good that you will re-injure your back in trucking. They decided to play the odds and not rehire you.
bigguns, Eldiablo and bryan21384 Thank this. -
I think I agree with the other posters. Being in STL, you have dozens of options to take your trucks to make money. Hell, MO in general, throw a dart and see which company it lands on
-
If you're looking for a new company, I can recommend the one I am driving for right now. I'm going to end up leasing my truck on with him. Key Carrier with CH (yeah i know), and has gotten awesome rates for dry van.
Last week.
Warren MI to McKees Rock PA - $1,100
Washington PA to Carthage MO - $2,000
Springfield MO to Lithia Springs GA - $3,000
my return load was
Lithia Springs GA to McKees Rock PA - $1,250 (will go on next weeks check)
so for the week, $6,100 gross. Fuel was a hair over $1,100, and driving his truck, I get 27%.
When my truck is leased on, I'll get either 70% or 88% (depends on if i want to rent the trailer or not) -
Go into business for yourself and stop all this kissy face with an employer that treats you like an indentured servantSumday33 Thanks this.

You paid for the fuel and it’s his truck?
Oh boy.....ZVar Thanks this. -
18% to use his trailer?
Boy do I have a deal for you on some ocean front property in Nebraska..... -
thats what i am beginning to think. I am a good driver and i talked to boss and he even said i we parted on good terms and couldnt give me a reason not to bring me back. just said no.

When I read the post on here about people wanting to become involved in a law suit I wonder if they know what they are getting into. I did sue an employer and I can tell you it is expensive and very stressful. When I won after I paid all my expenses I think I broke even. The fact is it cost money to sue. Sometimes the court makes the losers pay your attorney fees but all other expenses were mine. Expert witness fees, court cost, etc. hotel and meals were expensive. Good luck.
Brettj3876 and Sumday33 Thank this.
