Im not sure what’s going to happen to me?

Being hourly, I drive the posted speed limit in construction zones.

People treat me like an obnoxious rolling roadblock, and I'm like... legally speaking, this is the speed we are all supposed to be driving, but you do you. Lol

 

Longmeadow curve claims another victim.

The troopers hide up there on the ramp and pick off trucks like fish in a barrel.

From the south, the speed limit drops from 65, 55, to 45 thru the longmeadow curve, and then back up to 55 briefly, then back to 50 thru Springfield, then back up to 55 until you’re north of the city. There’s even a flashing speed-reader at the 45 zone.

Does it make sense? Yeah, actually it kinda does there. For anyone reading this, mind your manners in Springfield Mass on I-91. It’s a known hangout for the troopers to write trucks in that 45 zone. They’re always there.

 

71 in a 45 doesn’t make it a speed trap.

 

75 through town? i've never seen anyone pulled over through there. they run 65+. i just make sure i'm not the fastest truck...

 

just what I was going to say, doesn’t matter time of day/night he usually sits up the ramp on the south bound side, often times he brings his friends with him

the tandem yard at the 291 interchange is another hot spot

 

For sure. If you come cooking up through there at 71...you gonna regret it. If the cops don’t stop you, the curve that narrows under the bridge, and likely stopped traffic on the other side of it, will get ya.

 

It really saddens me to read comments about speeding thru construction zones. Those guys are out here making a living in some pretty harsh conditions and bozos driving like nascar with no regards to safety.

 

I don't speed through construction zones if workers are present. If there is none I'll do 5-8 over tops. That's why I like Michigan, 45mph when workers are present, and if not the speed is the posted speed. No reason to be driving 45mph through a zone at 3am with nobody around, unless the road is grooved.

Yeah man it's hectic through that area. If the state wanted to make some easy money they could set up a nasty speed trap there. Guaranteed there would be a nice line 1 mile long of trucks waiting to receive speeding tickets.

 

One thing about construction zones is how some states are treating them today. I always tried to just run with the flow of traffic when I was in one.
