Wonder if you had to be employed at Saia by a certain point to get the extra COVID days, I started in June and have zero accumulated/available sick time.
I need to approach HR and ask about this topic regardless, because MA’s sick time laws require employees to either have 40 hours available for sick time yearly (even if not accrued) or earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 worked up to a maximum of 40 hours.
My return to LTL... with SAIA

Last year the road closed before my dispatch which cancelled me. If the road was open generally I’ll have to run. No big deal to me. It’s just nice to have a call off in my back pocket. I know which storms not to run in. If. It’s a blizzard and road is somehow staying open then that’s when I might have to call off. Haven’t had to yet but I’m sure one of these days I will have to tap out.USMC 3531, jmz, Texas_hwy_287 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Also, it just dawned on me, that this week will be interesting (mainly because I am still trying to figure out methodologies that Central uses for dispatching) as the #1 guy in my barn is on vacation and he has a ridiculously wonderful meet point run. I'm hoping I plug that spot all week long, but don't know if they will bump the list up all week. No one in my barn has an answer for how it will shake out.

Hello, I've applied to Saia since June 29th and haven't heard anything from them yet. Do they usually take this long or is it slow to hire because of covid?

Does the recruiter listed on your profile have a name that starts with a B (no need to name names)?LTLdreamin and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -

Corporate in all their wisdom decided to declare that for Driver Appreciation Week (however, they dubbed it Employee Appreciation Week) they would send us a small token of appreciation in the form of... car cupholder coasters.
I'm not typicall one to complain about trivial things, especially where I enjoy the work I do etc. But part of me says "why bother"? It's kind of like heading to the Dollar General on the way to a birthday party, not finding anything suitable for a gift and saying "fornicate it" and grabbing something so you at least aren't empty handed.
I don't nor have I ever expected anything for the CDL hallmark holiday, but hell, if you don't want to participate then don't.Attached Files:
