I just got my authority a few days, I've found a factoring company I would like to go with. Problem is, i have everything done except proof of business. I've registered with the irs, i have an fein number. I'm uneducated on how to register on a state level though. Everyone I have spoke with also can't tell me what exactly is needed for trucking. Do I register for my ifta, and thats it? I'm totally lost? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm in GA. Thanks

Do you mean registering business as far as LLC goes? Some info here, you can also use a place like legalzoom or whatever however it is really straight forward if you file online. I would do it myself as you will know exactly how it was done if someone wants to ask questions later. File online (at least in Texas it is weeks faster)

Register an LLC with Georgia Secretary of State

Factoring companies target new authority because they will own legal ownership of your business, but will not tell you that. If you decide to try to leave they will hold your customers hostage and you as well until they feel like writing a release when ALL of the accounts are paid in full. I've been through 2 of them and they can drive you out of business

I dont know how useful this will be as I've not watched it and I don't live in Georgia. This is what popped up with a youtube search though so good luck.

How much capital do you think is required to float loads starting out as a single truck?

Book loads through Convoy and Uber so you don't need factoring. Over half of my annual business is through Convoy, and I get paid within a couple days on every load with no factoring fees.
