It's been great following your adventure from OTR to Local FS. You are mid 20's I gather from your previous posts. Ran OTR from age 21-25. Most 21 year olds can't find their way out of Mom and Dads basement. You have a solid foundation......know how to maneuver one of these beasts.....the transition to local will be an easy one. You will just need to learn the "system" Multiple stops, product, handheld will have a learning curve. But..... City driving and CQ operation are already in the bag. I'm sure you will excel and make a solid check....plus have a real home and not live in a box
JOHNQPUBLIC, MACK E-6, Mooseontheloose and 2 others Thank this. -
I'm guessing even though you quoted me that wasn't directed at me?

Sorry, I'm just a dumb truck driver with a smart phone. Apparently much smarter than me
I'm lucky if I can actually send a text or email properly, let alone reply to a post on a message board
MACK E-6 and GladhandSW Thank this. -
Just going over procedure and safety classes. The culture here seems great, I say seems because I barely been here for a few days. Overall it has left a good impression on me. The trainers are very professional. The best part is being paid for my time. It's a great feeling. Should have more to input once I get with a mentor and actually start the real job.

Did some training exercises in the yard today. That was my first time driving a small 2 axle truck and a 26 foot trailer. Tomorrow night I go out with a mentor. Looking forward to it.

26 ft trailer? Where are they going to put the other half of the load?Buffalonytrucker92, jmz and Cardfan89 Thank this.

Must be taking doubles out on their delivery routes.

I assume he means 28 ft trailer. And I did food service before and if that 28 ft trailer is full and you have a decent area to cover with plenty of stops than it will take 8-14 hours to deliver...anyways I dont do food service anymore and I dont miss it lol
GladhandSW Thanks this. -
...In the other trailer.
