As a company driver, which truck stops you prefer to fuel up and get services?
In my situation, money is tight and I'm trying my best to reduce on the road expenses, such as food, shower, equipment... Many chain truck stops offer reward programs that you can use to get shower and buy stuff in the store, I got a few of those cards, I didn't see much differences in what they offer. For the more experienced drivers, maybe you can tell me which ones offer better rewards.
Thanks for your help

Well there used to be five of the big chains, but now with consolidation it is down to Pilot/FlyingJ, TA/Petro and Loves. Overall, my "favorite" is Pilot because the cards are free and easily available (no, I won't get a Flying J card where they require me to give out my home address) and they have the most fuel stops. Plus, the new automated shower system in a growing number of their stores is a big plus for me (just remember to scan the shower LCD screen to make sure there is one available, then nab it with your card).

Pilot and Flying j merged.
Put this in google (pilot and flying j merger) you can do the research. -
Good privates and then company franchise mergers (Pilot/Bosselmans). I doubt that J cards will continue, Road Ranger didn't, next would be Loves, then it's a toss between the last 3 depending on the restaurant availability. Sometimes us company drivers get told where to buy fuel and even truck stops you can park at where anything that happens there won't automatically be blamed on the driver. If I'm in an area with a company that has accounts and doesn't need the cash card(Comdata, et al), I will use that, simplifies logging and paperwork.

I use which ever one is closest to me when I need to stop or get fuel. There is still one or two truckstops out there that do not require you to prepay first. Those are the ones I like the best.

There is a Love's near me that is only a few years old (new). I was talking to the cashier who worked there and she said Love's is going to buid two more truck stops in the area. The Love's that I am talking about is in Fort Mill on Sutton Road on I-77 exit 83. I have never seen any low lifes there.

I perfer the Petro over most of the others. However, since they hooked up with TA-the quality is slipping. I like the availability of Pilot for showers or short stop overs. I really like the Bosselmans restaurants alot. TA has gone to heck in a handbasket and I try to avoid them. Loves are ok to get some quick food-but I normally only stop at those that have Carl's Jr.
My major complaint about truck stops is how dirty they are or lack of maintenance in the heads or driver areas. I know that this is partly to blame on drivers that have no respect for themselves or other people's property.
I have used mainly the Rewards with Pilot and Loves. I rarely used the other guys for only showers.HFC Thanks this.
