hi, i have a 2006 volvo 670 with volvo d12 engine and 710xxx miles both egr's and egr cooler are disconnected the truck has 31psi@1900rpm boost and 68psi@1900rpm fuel pressure but still lacks the power. already changed the boost pressure sensor no change. the mech says to change all 6 injectors and injector cups (since i never changed them) and to see what we get then, but to me that's a big gamble about $3500 just in parts gamble. i was wondering if anyone had same issues and could help me make a better choice. if it matters it is a 10speed straight Meritor transmission and 3.58 ratio 465hp.
please any idea would help..... where i go from here

    thanks in advance

check for fuel ratio, if over 2.5 l/h (compressor off), injectors are worn. No smoke, no power

We ran a few Volvo D12's without any emission systems and they were superb....durable,excellent on fuel and great to pull when remapped correctly. 31 psi seems very weak ,as mine used to run aropund 45psi. We had one which lost its sparkle aound 1.3 million hard killometers. We eventually ended up taking it to Volvo, where a very good technician found some poor connections and groundings on the wiring harness around the engine and the front of the cab. When we got it back,it performed like a Ferrari....and the bill from Volvo was only 170 euros.

I wouldn't begin the dianosis by replacing the injectors just yet. You will have spent $3,500 and still be non the wiser. I would begin by following the wiring harness and tracing the connections...especially near the ECU.

Volvos aren't known for making any sort of power. Have you compared it on the highway with a similar vehicle? Or put it on the dyno?
